Liverpool salvaged a dramatic point at Anfield as Diogo Jota struck late to secure a 2-2 draw against a spirited Fulham side.
This comes despite the hosts playing over an hour with ten men following Andy Robertson’s red card.
The game started disastrously for Liverpool, with Andreas Pereira’s shot deflecting off Robertson to give Fulham the lead after just 11 minutes.
The Reds’ left-back endured a torrid evening, capped by his dismissal for a last-man foul on Harry Wilson after VAR confirmed the Fulham winger was onside.
Liverpool regrouped after the break, and Cody Gakpo restored parity two minutes into the second half with a deft header from Mohamed Salah’s pinpoint cross.
However, Fulham regained the lead in the 76th minute when Antonee Robinson’s surging run and cross set up Rodrigo Muniz for a fine finish.
Just when it seemed the visitors would snatch all three points, substitute Diogo Jota came to Liverpool’s rescue with a superb equalizer in the 85th minute, ensuring the Premier League leaders avoided a damaging defeat.
The draw keeps Liverpool at the top, but the performance and Robertson’s red card raise questions ahead of the busy festive schedule.
