World record holder in women’s 100m hurdles Tobi Amusan is said to be training in Jamaica under coach Glen Mills who is famous for training multiple world record holder and fastest man in the world Usain Bolt, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

According to Radio Jamaica Sports, Amusan who has been training in Jamaica since September – one month after the ill-fated outing at the Paris Olympics – could be there for the entire 2025 season.

“The 27-year-old Nigerian athlete who won the world title in Eugene, Oregon in 2022 and set the world record of 12.12s in the semi-finals, is now taking orders from the legendary coach and president of the Racers Track Club Glen Mills,” the outlet wrote.

Before Radio Jamaica Sports revelation, Amusan has been training under the tutelage of former Commonwealth champion and retired Jamaican hurdler, Lascena Golding-Clarke, whom she usually pays glowing tributes to.

“From you ma, I have learned strength, determination, self-discipline, and respect amongst many others. Mrs Clarke, I can’t thank you enough for your dedication to helping me pursue my goals & for all of your inspiring lessons,” she wrote about coach Golding-Clarke after graduating from UTEP in 2023.

In November, the hurdler still acknowledged her Jamaican coach after being inducted into the University of Texas El Paso’s, Hall of Fame,

“Coach Lacena Golding Clarke, I’m forever indebted to you for accepting to mentor this little girl with the weirdest hurdles techniques,” she wrote in her post on social media, suggesting she is still working with the coach.

Amusan has been under the radar since the Paris 2024 Olympics where she surprisingly missed out on the final spot.

For Nigeria, she has competed in three Olympics and is also a four-time African Games champion, five-time African champion, three-time Diamond League winner (2021, 2022, 2023), and two-time Commonwealth Games champion (2018 and 2022).
