Team Nigeria showcased exceptional prowess, securing an impressive haul of 11 gold, 12 silver, and 7 bronze medals in wrestling, bringing their total medal count to a remarkable 30 across various sporting events. The games, which commenced on Monday, have brought together approximately 1,625 athletes from 21 African countries competing across 20 different sporting disciplines. In taekwondo, Team Nigeria claimed four gold medals, with Mohammed Yusuf winning in the men’s 54kg category, Bisallah Rejoice triumphing in the women’s 46kg division, Ibeh Nancy securing victory in the women’s 49kg class, and Anam Glory emerging victorious in the women’s 53kg category.
The Nigerian Armed Forces further solidified their dominance by clinching two gold medals in handball, defeating Ghana in both men’s and women’s finals.
