Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur is the biggest game in the Premier League this weekend as the players return from the final international break of the year.
The Premier League Champions have been in poor form in the last few weeks as Pep Guardiola saw his team lose four consecutive for the first time in his managerial career. On the other hand, Tottenham have been a shadow of themselves compared to their form at the beginning of last season Ange Postecoglou, which saw them go unbeaten in their first ten league games of the season.
However. Manchester City could take confidence from Pep Guardiola’s latest contract extension, which will see him remain at the Etihad until 2027. The Spaniard will be looking to kick off his contract renewal with a victory over Spurs.
Tottenham are currently low on confidence after suffering back-to-back defeats against Crystal Palace and newly promoted side, Ipswich Town at White Hart Lane before the international break. The good news for the Cityzens is that their struggling forward player, Erling Haaland had an excellent international break, scoring and assisting against Slovenia, before notching a hat-trick against Kazakhstan.
That’s bad news for Spurs, who have seen Haaland wheel off in celebration with three goals in his four Premier League appearances against them. However, they could get confidence from their victory over City in the Carabao Cup three weeks ago.

Recent form:
Manchester City have been very poor since they lost Rodri to a season-ending knee injury. Since the start of last season, City have played 13 league games without Rodri and lost five of them.
Meanwhile, Spurs have only won two of their last 11 Premier League away games (D2 L7), winning just once in five on the road this term. Since the start of this spell in March, no team have lost more Premier League away games than Tottenham (seven).
Man City vs Tottenham ( Head to Head )
Man City have won just three of their last 10 Premier League games against Tottenham (D2 L5), and they will be looking to win consecutive meetings with them for the first time since April 2019.
Tottenham have scored at least twice in each of their last three Premier League away games against City, winning 3-2 in 2021-22, losing 4-2 in 2022-23 and drawing 3-3 last season. No team has ever scored more than two goals in four consecutive Premier League visits to the Etihad.
Under Guardiola (since 2016-17), City have lost more Premier League games (six) and conceded more Premier League goals (22) against Spurs than they have against any other opponent.
Prediction: ( Man City vs Tottenham)
Erling Haaland has scored three goals in his last four games against Spurs and he will be looking to get more goals as them and shut up his critics. Spurs will also score following the form of Solanke and some of their attacking players but their leaky defence will be their downfall.
Manchester City 4-2 Tottenham
