Oseloka Obaze, who served as the campaign manager for the Obi-Datti Organisation during the 2023 elections, has responded to recent comments made by Doyin Okupe.

Okupe had dismissed Peter Obi’s “consumption to production” mantra, claiming it lacks a solid policy foundation.

In his response, Obaze revealed that Okupe had played a direct role in finalizing the policy document that detailed Obi’s economic vision, which centres on transforming Nigeria’s economy from a consumption-driven model to a production-based one.

Obaze emphasized the importance of this economic strategy, arguing that it is rooted in a comprehensive vision for transforming Nigeria’s economy and fostering sustainable development.

He urged critics to engage constructively with the ideas presented by Peter Obi rather than undermining them without basis.

In a recent post on X, Oseloka Obaze vehemently criticized Doyin Okupe’s claims, labeling them as “balderdash.”

He did not stop at mere name-calling; Obaze took the opportunity to present substantial evidence aimed at refuting Okupe’s statements.

He highlighted specific data and examples, he sought to reinforce the validity of Peter Obi’s “consumption to production” mantra, arguing that it is grounded in sound economic principles and a clear policy framework designed to address Nigeria’s pressing economic challenges.

Obaze further expressed disappointment in Okupe, who had served as the Director-General of Obi’s campaign during the 2023 presidential election.

He added: “Perhaps, he [Okupe] has a touch of amnesia. Well, he should know. He is the Medical Doctor!”

Okupe’s earlier comments, in which he labelled Obi’s campaign rhetoric as lacking depth and actionable plans, have sparked controversy and backlash from Obi’s supporters.
