Kumasi Asante Kotoko will hope to sustain their pursuit for the top spot of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) table with an audacious attempt to snatch the three maximum points at the CAMS Park in Aiyinase where they play as guests of Basake Holy Stars.

Kotoko trail Medeama at the top with 14 points with an outstanding game against Legon Cities to be cleared on Wednesday.

Ambitious of overtaking the leaders, Kotoko must grind a result against the Premier League debutant at a not so familiar territory.

A Kotoko win would keep them closer to Medeama and hope to add the points from the outstanding game to claim the top spot.

What, however, is of immediate concern to the Reds is how to clear the Holy Stars hurdle which might prove a Herculean task.

Though their campaign has not been smooth-sailing, they have given a good account of themselves, chalking a few remarkable victories including an opening day victory over Hearts of Oak in Accra.

Against another GPL giant, the host would use the platform to stake a claim for themselves as a force to reckon with.

Medeama would follow development around that game as they also target an upset over Aduana Stars at the Dormaa Park.

This season might not be one of the decent ones for the Dormaa boys but in such a major showdown, they may rise to the occasion to warn the other competitors.

Additionally, Aduana have managed to keep the Dormaa ground as one of the difficult centres in the competition, a situation that is expected to keep the visitors on guard for 90 minutes.

Accra Hearts of Oak will also be knocking hard on the doors of the top clubs as they hope to join the elites as a major contestants for the diadem.

At the University of Ghana (UG) Stadium, the Phobians will welcome GoldStars on Sunday in what is expected to test that resolve.

In other matches, the Nsenkyire Sports Arena will host the Samartex versus Berekum Chelsea clash; Heart of Lions face Nsoatreman at the Kpando Sports Stadium and Bechem United against Karela United at the Bechem Park.

At the Ohene Ameyaw Park, Young Apostles will welcome Dreams FC, Nations FC will battle Vision FC as Legon Cities engage Accra Lions at the UG Stadium.
