The supporters of Liverpool Football Club were hit with a sad news as it concerns an injury to their first choice goalkeeper, Alison Becker ahead of the Premier League game against Chelsea.

Alison Becker was substituted during the second half of Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday, October 5, 2024. With the club’s number 2 choice, Kelleher unavailable through illness, 23-year-old Vítezslav Jaros made his Premier League debut, keeping a clean sheet.

The injury to Alison means Liverpool will be without the Brazilian until November 2024 and he is expected to miss some key fixtures for the Reds. However, Kellher is expected to recover in time to join up with the Republic of Ireland squad for the October international break.

Which games will Alison Becker miss for Liverpool?

He is expected to miss matches against Chelsea, Arsenal, Brighton, and Aston Villa in the Premier League, as well as two Champions League fixtures against RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen.

Liverpool fans will hope that Kelleher will do a better job than Alison when he is selected by the club’s manager, Arne Slot.
