One of the most prolific strikers in the Premier League, Jhon Duran, has signed a long-term contract extension with Aston Villa.
Aston Villa confirmed the news of the contract on its official website on Monday, October 7, 2024. According to reports from the club, Jhon Duran signed a six-year deal, which will keep him at Villa Park at least until 2030.
The 20-year-old has been impressive since the start of this season, scoring six times, including the goal which sealed a win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League. He also contributed match-winning goals against West Ham, Leicester and Everton.
Jhon Duran joined Aston Villa in January 2023 from the MLS side, Chicago Fire. He was on the radar of Chelsea Football Club and West Ham United during the 2024 summer transfer window but the deal failed to see the light of day at the very end.
