A book highlighting developmental projects in the Anyaa Sowutuom Constituency, Accra, was launched by former Minister of Finance, Mr Seth Terkper, in Accra yesterday.

The book, titled: ‘For the Records,’ documents projects undertaken by the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) government and highlights those abandoned by the current administration.

Authored by the Deputy Communications Officer of the constituency, Mr Raphael Apetorgbor, the book provides detailed evidence of major infrastructural developments, including the construction of the Sowutuom Court Complex, Ga Central Municipal Assembly Building, multi-storey school blocks, the Awoshie-Pokuase Highway, and the development of local markets.

These projects were showcased as significant contributions by the NDC to the constituency’s growth.

Mr Terkper commended Mr Ape torgbor for creating a comprehensive record of the developmental projects.

He urged NDC members and executives to utilise the book as a tool to garner support for the party, stating that it serves as critical evidence to counter claims that the NDC’s Green Book is filled with inaccuracies.

“We are presenting the community with the facts and evidence so that when lies are spread about projects in the constituency, they can speak up and appreciate the NDC’s good works,” Mr Terkper emphasised.

He further encouraged NDC communication executives across the country to follow Mr Apetorgbor’s example, underscoring the importance of letting “the evidence speak for us.”

Additionally, Mr Terkper touched on the significance of responsible spending, which he noted always promotes development.

He reiterated that the NDC would continue to prioritise infrastructural development for the betterment of all communities nationwide.

The NDC’s Greater Accra Regional Chairman, Nii Ashie Moore, who also graced the occasion stressed the importance of truth and unity within the party.

He urged NDC members and Ghanaians in general to rally behind the party, asserting that every promise in the NDC’s manifesto would be fulfilled if they are voted into power.

He lauded Mr Apetorgbor for his dedication and courage in bringing the truth to light through his book.

Mr Apetorgbor, on his part explained his motivation for writing ‘For the Records.’

He expressed concern over the spread of misinformation regarding the NDC’s projects in the Anyaa Sowutuom constituency, which he feared might be believed if not countered with facts.

“This publication is more than just a collection of photographs and writings; it is a comprehensive record of our achievements,” he stated.

Mr Apetorgbor stressed that the evidence presented in the book starkly contrasts the claims made by the New Patriotic Party (NPP), highlighting the remarkable contributions of the previous NDC government.
