Israeli army says it carried out 'targeted strike' in Beirut

The Israel Defense Forces said it carried out a “targeted strike” in the Lebanese capital Beirut on Friday, adding that “at this moment, there are no changes in the Home Front Command defensive guidelines.”

A Lebanese security source told AFP an Israeli air strike hit Hezbollah’s south Beirut stronghold on Friday, while the Israeli military said it conducted a “targeted strike.”

Huge explosions were heard in the southern area of Beirut, according to media reports.
