Disruptive weather warnings have been issued for various regions, including snow, rainfall, and strong winds, affecting transportation and community services.

According to the South African Weather Service, extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in the Northern Cape, with very cold temperatures and snowfall predicted across multiple provinces from Friday into Saturday.

Impact-based warnings:

Orange Level 6 warning for disruptive snow, causing service disruptions and temporary community cut-offs, in the north-eastern high ground of the Eastern Cape and south-western high ground of KwaZulu-Natal.

Yellow Level 2 warning for disruptive snow, causing icy roads and temporary mountain pass closures, in the northern and central high ground of the Eastern Cape, Free State, and western high ground of KwaZulu-Natal.

Yellow Level 2 warning for disruptive rainfall in the north-eastern parts of KwaZulu-Natal.

Yellow Level 2 warning for strong damaging winds, causing difficult driving conditions and possible flying debris, in the Northern Cape, western parts of the Free State, and North West.

Yellow Level 2 warning for wind and waves, causing navigation difficulties at sea and localised disruptions to harbours or ports, between Port Edward and Kosi Bay.

Fire danger warnings:

Extremely high fire danger conditions expected over the central part of the Northern Cape.

Advisories:

A cut-off low-pressure system will affect the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, parts of the Free State, Mpumalanga, and Gauteng from Friday into Saturday.

Very cold conditions (maximum temperatures of below 10°C) are expected over the interior of the Eastern Cape, interior of KwaZulu-Natal, southern and eastern parts of the Free State, and the Highveld and escarpment of Mpumalanga from Friday into Saturday, spreading to Gauteng on Saturday.

Snowfalls expected over the southern and eastern high ground of the Free State, including the Lesotho border, eastern and northern high ground of the Eastern Cape, western and southern high ground of KwaZulu-Natal, and southern Highveld and escarpment of Mpumalanga from Friday into Saturday morning.

Western Cape: Partly cloudy over the central and eastern parts with morning rain along the south coast, otherwise fine and cool. Wind along the coast: moderate to fresh easterly to south-easterly but strong along the west coast.

In parts of the western half of the province it will be very cold and windy, otherwise cloudy and cold with scattered showers and thundershowers. Snow is expected over the mountainous areas.

There will be moderate to fresh south-easterly winds along the coast, but light and variable in places west of Oyster Bay in the morning.

Snowfall is expected over the high ground areas.

There will be a moderate to fresh south-easterly wind along the coast.

KwaZulu-Natal: Cloudy and very cold, but cool over the northeastern parts with widespread showers and rain.

There will be a fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly wind along the coast, becoming moderate in the south from the morning.
