Man United head coach Erik Ten Hag in his pre-match press conference has shared the latest injury update on players missing out of action for the club.
Man United manager Erik Ten Hag in his pre-match press conference which was held today, Thursday, September 19,2024, confirmed that two key players Mason Mount and Hojlund are back from injury and may likely play their next Premier League game against Crystal Palace.
Hojlund, 21, has been out after he suffered a hamstring injury in July, 2024, while Mason Mount, 25, has missed the last two games also with a hamstring problem.
Speaking with reporters, Erik Ten Hag on the stars back from injury revealed, “Very good news they are back on pitch, back in team training, we have to decide if they are fit enough to start, very pleasing they are back. Many games in this block to cover. We have to make the final call, they did a couple of trainings, we have to see how they recover. Then we will make the final call tomorrow.”
While talking about being careful of injuries, he said, “In top football you always go to boundaries. It’s not avoidable but when you have a full squad available then it’s easier to manage the load when you are in circumstances like last season and there is a need to play, we have to overload them. We hope we can integrate them in a very careful way.”
Hojlund is yet to play this season after picking up his problem during a pre-season game against Arsenal.
Manchester United will return to action on Saturday for their Premier League trip to Crystal Palace.
Erik ten Hag’s side approach the game in fine scoring form after bouncing back from a humbling league defeat to Liverpool by beating Southampton 3-0 on Saturday lunchtime before thumping Barnsley 7-0 to reach the Carabao Cup fourth round.
