Wednesday’s weather: Morning fog with cool to warm temperatures in most of the country

The South African Weather Service has forecast morning fog patches with partly cloudy conditions and cool to warm temperatures for most of South Africa.

Partly cloudy conditions and warm temperatures with isolated showers and thundershowers are expected in Gauteng from the afternoon, but scattered in the south.

The expected UVB sunburn index is high.

Mpumalanga will have morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise it will be partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers from the afternoon, but scattered in the south-west.

Morning fog patches are also expected in Limpopo along the escarpment, where evening drizzle is forecast.

It will be fine in the west in the morning, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the western Bushveld and southern parts from the afternoon. 

The North West can expect partly cloudy and warm temperatures with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated in the north-east.

Morning fog patches are forecast in the Free State’s east, otherwise it will be partly cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated over the south-western parts.

The Northern Cape can expect morning fog patches along the coast, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot temperatures with isolated showers and thundershowers are forecast, except in the south, but scattered in the north.

It will be fine in the extreme south. The wind along the coast will be a moderate southerly.

Cloudy and cool to warm conditions are expected in the Western Cape along the south coast and adjacent interior at first, where it will become partly cloudy.

Otherwise, fine and warm but hot to very hot temperatures are forecast along the west coast.

The wind along the coast will be a moderate to fresh south-easterly, but strong in the south-west from the afternoon.

The expected UVB sunburn index is very high.

Morning fog patches are expected in the western half of the Eastern Cape over the interior. Otherwise, it will be fine and cool to warm, becoming partly cloudy over the northern interior in the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be a moderate south-westerly in the morning. Otherwise, it will be light and variable, becoming a moderate easterly to south-easterly in the afternoon.

The eastern half of the province will have morning fog patches over the interior. Otherwise, partly cloudy and cool to warm conditions are expected, but it will be cloudy along the Wild Coast and adjacent interior with morning drizzle.

Isolated thunderstorms are expected in the north from the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be a moderate south-westerly, becoming a moderate easterly to north-easterly in the afternoon.

KwaZulu-Natal will have morning fog patches over the interior. Otherwise, it will be cloudy and cool to warm, becoming partly cloudy in the north from the late morning.

Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected, but will be scattered in the west.

The wind along the coast will be a moderate to fresh south-westerly, becoming a light to moderate easterly to south-easterly from the afternoon, but north-easterly in the evening.
