In this article, let’s compare the new Carnival with the Toyota Innova Hycross.
Comparing the variants and pricing first, the Carnival is offered in a single fully-loaded Limousine trim with a 7-seat layout and a single diesel engine option priced at 68.9 lakh (ex-showroom). The Hycross on the other hand is offered with 7 and 8 seat layout and two petrol engine options. It gets GX, GX(O), VX, VX(O), ZX and ZX(O) variants and is priced between Rs 19.77 lakh to Rs 30.9 lakh (ex-showroom). The Carnival almost costs double the price because it’s bought to India via the CBU route, hence it attracts import duties. However, it’s expected that the Carnival will be locally assembled at a later date, which should bring its price down by a substantial amount.
