Nigerian entertainers are a bunch of talented folks, and that includes those skit makers.

1. Nasboi

Lawal Michael Nasiru Bolaji, born on March 13, 1992, goes by the professional name Nas Boi. Hailing from Odo Otin Local Government in Osun State but raised in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nas Boi gained fame for mimicking the music star Davido in his skits, earning him the moniker “low-budget OBO.”

Even though Nas Boi tried for many years to become a big deal in the music world, he became famous for making funny videos instead. His hilarious imitation of Davido made him well known. Although he had a tough time making it big in music like he wanted, Nas Boi has finally achieved his dream of making good music now. His hit single, Umbrella featuring Wande Coal has gained fame at home and abroad.

In addition to his roles in comedy and music, Nas Boi has showcased his acting skills in notable movies, such as “Lockdown” in 2021 and “Passport” in 2022. This multitalented entertainer continues to make a mark in various realms of the entertainment industry.

2. Broda Shaggi

Born Samuel Animashaun Perry on July 6, 1993, and popularly known as Broda Shaggi,. He’s a Nigerian comedian, actor, songwriter, and musician. Originally from Sagamu in Ogun State but born in Ikenne, also in Ogun State. Broda Shaggi went to the University of Lagos, where he studied creative arts.

Broda Shaggi first got famous on places like Instagram, where he put up short, funny videos. Because of his online popularity, he got a chance to be in Nollywood, which is Nigeria’s movie and TV industry. He’s been in lots of movies and shows there. On top of all that, he also makes music. You might have heard his catchy song Oya Hit Me, where he mixes Afrobeat and Fuji music styles. He has released other songs like Ijo Loka featuring Pasuma, Cross My Lane featuring Falz, Ori, and a few others.

3. Emma OMG

Born May 3rd, Emmanuel Edunjobi, also known as Emma OMG, became famous for his funny music videos and has kept making them every year. He’s not just a Nigerian comedian but also good at playing many musical instruments, creating content, making YouTube videos, hosting events, being on TV and radio, acting, producing, and singing gospel music.

Emma OMG is so good at music that he can tell a story just by playing instruments. You can see this in his current series, EmmaOMG Highlife Series, Faaji Friday 6.0 and some of his hit performances include Oba ni Jesu, This new year featuring Mike Abdul and a few others.

4. Carter Efe

Oderhohwo Joseph, known as Carter Efe, began his journey as a skit maker in 2019 and later achieved global recognition with his hit song “Machala,” reaching the 14th position on the Afrobeats charts on the US Billboards. Carter Efe has become a notable name in the music scene, with multiple singles and collaborations under his belt.

5. Kenny Blaq

Otolorin Kehinde Peter, professionally known as Kenny Blaq, has made a mark as a stand-up comedian and singer. With performances at significant events, including the Unlock Naija Independence celebration and the Africa Magic Owambe Finale, Kenny Blaq showcases his comedic and musical talents.

6. Taaooma

Maryam Apaokagi, popularly known as Taaooma, is a versatile comedian, content creator, musician, cinematographer, and influencer. Apart from her acclaimed comedy skits, Taaooma has delved into music, using her songs in her skits. She is also the CEO of Chop Tao, a food company, and is actively involved in cinematography.

7. Josh2Funny

Chibuike Joshua Alfred, born on December 18, 1990, is widely recognised as Josh2Funny. He is a Nigerian content creator, actor, and musician. Originally from Anambra State, Josh relocated to Lagos with his family at the age of eight. His breakthrough came with the viral success of his skit #DontLeaveMe. Another moment in the spotlight occurred when he gained attention for his portrayal as the “#fastest reader in the world” on America’s Got Talent.

8. Twyse Ereme

Ereme Abraham, popularly known as Twyse, is a skit maker, actor, and singer. Recognised for his versatility in portraying various roles in comedy skits, Twyse also channels his creativity into making music during his leisure time.

9. Akikalmd

Ola Akika, widely recognised as Akikalmd, is a Nigerian creator of funny videos and a rapper. His rise to fame began when one of his comedy skits gained widespread popularity on Instagram. He is well-known for his use of Yoruba slang, particularly his catchphrase, “Yasin Ko Funny Na.” In addition to his skits, Akikalmd has also ventured into music, with tracks such as Tribute to Mohbad, Better Than Your Ex, and more.
