Winners emerge in spelling bee competition

A pupil of St George’s Boys School, Ikoyi, Ndifreke Wisdom, has emerged winner of the Spelling Bee Competition organised by Children Education Fund.

The CEF competition was held in collaboration with Adebayo Dream Humanitarian Foundation at St George Boys’ School, Lagos Education District 3 in Ikoyi/Obalende Local Government Area.

Nnachetam Emmanuel of St George’s Boys School was the first runner-up and Amoo Emmanuel of Dodan Barracks Primary School was the second.

Gifts such as Education tablets, school bags, launch bags, launch boxes,  water bottles, pencil cases, exercise books, and cartons of biscuits were given to the winners at the event.

A statement by the organisation said that 11 schools across the LCDA participated in the competition.

Speaking at the event, the Programme Manager, CEF, Temitope Akinrotimi, said that the spelling bee was a competition in which contestants were asked to spell a broad selection of words for their educational level with varying degrees of difficulty.

In his words, the Founder of  Adebayo Dream Humanitarian Foundation, Dr Adebayo Adekunle, said the competition was organised to encourage healthy competition among pupils in the Ikoyi-Obalende area.
