Sunday Sin | Vandana Kumar

It’s a Monday
Sabbath day was done
We rolled over
From a day of rest
Into a week of traffic and toll tax

A gray winter’s Sunday
Could have been compensated
With kisses
That smelt of sunshine
And melted like butter
On an extra-large tub of popcorn
Inside a full theatre

An entire Sunday
Of potential
We could have opened
And shut
Without factory timings to clock

Yesterday
An entire afternoon spread itself
To make love
We did the laundry instead
