Nigerian Literary Society (NLS) Set to Celebrate 65 years of Achebe’s Things Fall Apart

The Nigerian Literary Society (NLS) will celebrate 65 years of Professor Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart. The novel is perhaps one of the most iconic literary works produced by an African.

Things Fall Apart is the debut novel by Nigerian author Chinua Achebe, first published in 1958. It depicts pre-colonial life in the southeastern part of Nigeria and the invasion by Europeans during the late 19th century.

The curator of the Nigerian Literary Society, David Chukwueke in a statement noted the theme of the programme as: Okonkwo: Between Heroism And Cowardice.

The Lead Discussants are the renowned writer and publisher, Uzo Nwamara ( former Chairman, Association of Nigerian Authors ANA, Rivers State Chapter) and Nsan Eneyo (Department of English, FCET, Omoku).


The event is scheduled to hold as follow:
