Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that aside from the injury to Martin Odegaard, the team will also be without Oleksandr Zinchenko for at least the next four matches due to a calf injury.

Mikel Arteta mentioned this during his press conference for the Carabao Cup third round clash against Bolton. According to him, Oleksandr Zinchenko is far from returning back to training, which is a big blow to the team in their quest

Arteta has been able to manage the team well in the absence of the Ukrainian international with the likes of defensive reinforcements like Jurrien Timber, Riccardo Calafiori, and Jakub Kiwior stepping in for the left-back

When Arteta was asked specifically about Zinchenko, he confirmed that the defender’s extended absence: “I think he will still be out for a few weeks.”

Recall that Arsenal’s captain Martin Odegaard is also expected to be sidelined for several more weeks. He suffered a significant ankle ligament injury while playing for Norway in the Nations League earlier in September 2024.

The midfielder has already missed key fixtures against Atalanta, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, and he could Leicester City, Paris Saint-Germain, and Southampton. However, the club are yet to release a statement on the player’s injury.
