1. Vaginal Cleansing:
– Wash your vagina twice daily. After sweating or exercise, wash again. Change undergarments daily and wash them in hot water to remove sweat and bacteria.
2. Avoid Harmful Products:
– Don’t use antiseptic soaps or body scrubs. These disrupt good bacteria and can lead to candida super-infections. Avoid douching as well.
3. Probiotics for Balance:
– Consume plain yogurt or take probiotics regularly. Live active bacteria in these maintain a healthy vaginal balance.
4. Keep Dry:
– Keep your vagina dry, except during sexual activity. Moisture and sweat can lead to odor and health issues.
5. Menstrual Hygiene:
– Change tampons or pads regularly during periods. Prolonged use breeds bacteria and can cause infections. Avoid scented pads and tampons.
6. Limit Sexual Partners:
– Minimize multiple sexual partners to prevent recurring bacterial infections.
7. Choose Breathable Fabrics:
– Wear cotton underwear or well-fitting fabrics to allow proper ventilation. Avoid tight pants to prevent irritation and infection.
8. Balanced Diet:
– Consume fruits, vegetables, and avoid processed foods and excess sugar. Certain foods can affect vaginal pH and odor.
9. Bathing Caution:
– Avoid long baths in standing water. Bacteria, sweat, and dirt can lead to infections.
10. Proper Wiping:
– Always wipe from front to back after using the bathroom to prevent transferring rectal bacteria to the vagina.
