Affordable housing developer Calgro M3 has flagged the risk of riots, land invasions and other protest action as potential threats to its industry in the lead-up to the national elections.

But the company, which also runs a memorial parks business, said on Friday that it was in the fortunate position of not having any major construction happening over the next six months, decreasing the threat for it.

CEO Wikus Lategan also told investors and journalists in a pre-close briefing on Friday that the group is nonetheless “cautious”.
