Bayelsa varsity gets NUC’s approval for 16 undergraduate courses

The National Universities Commission has granted Hensard University in Bayelsa State the approval to run 16 undergraduate programmes.

Some of the approved programmes for the Hensard university, which is a private institution, are Medicine and Surgery, Nursing Science, Mechanical Engineering, Anatomy, Physiotherapy, Public Health, Radiology.

A letter signed by the acting director of Academic Planning at the NUC, Abubakar Girei, confirmed the approvals.

Prior to the recent approval, the NUC had in a letter dated January 22, 2025, approved 14 programmes, all to be offered full-time at the university starting with the 2024/2025 session..

They include pharmacy, biology education, primary education,
