Chelsea Football Club have reportedly reached an agreement with Josh Acheampong for a new deal as he gets closer to the expiration of his current contract.
The Blues boss, Enzo Maresca confirmed the news during his pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to Kazakhstan for the game against Astana in the UEFA Europa Conference League on Thursday, December 12, 2024.
The decision to renew Josh Acheampong’s contract will be a major boost to his career, and he will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of other successful Chelsea academy graduates.
Maresca confirmed that the trip to Kazakhstan will be an opportunity for Josh Acheampong and some other young players to get minutes and more game time.
He said,
“Yeah, some of them will be here and some of them will fly with us. More or less, we try to manage in the same way we have done before today. We have many young players, 17 players with us, and the rest will be here with us. Eight hours is not a normal time for a game, you know, but we have to go there, we have to play, try our best and thinking also about the next game.”
Chelsea fans will hope that the club can extend their winning streak to six across all competitions.
